12th Annual National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day
The Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA), the hydrogen industry, its supporters, and friends will be celebrating the 12th annual National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
The date of October 8 (10/08) was chosen in recognition of the atomic weight of hydrogen (1.008). National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day provides a platform for a collective campaign to raise broader awareness of fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies.
FCHEA Circuits Webinar – National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day: Powering the Path Forward
FCHEA will be hosting a Circuits webinar on October 8, at 2:00 pm, to showcase three industry sectors that are emerging as priorities for the U.S. Department of Energy and other stakeholders in the U.S. and internationally – data centers, geologic hydrogen, and fertilizer production. Georgia Tech to Host Hydrogen Day 2026 Event
Georgia Tech’s Strategic Energy Institute is convening senior leaders from industry, government, academia, and the Southeast hydrogen ecosystem for two days focused on accelerating the commercial adoption of hydrogen.
This event will kick off on October 7 with a networking reception at the Marcus Nanotechnology Building with the Southeast Hydrogen Energy Alliance, followed by the Southeast Hydrogen Roadmapping Forum on October 8, which tackles the technical, economic, and infrastructure barriers to hydrogen in transportation, ports, rail, and heavy industry.
University of Delaware Center for Clean Hydrogen Hosting Briefing and Lunch
The Center for Clean Hydrogen is hosting a Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day event at Air Liquide’s Innovation Campus in Newark, Delaware on October 8, 2026, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm EST.
The event will showcase Delaware’s growing hydrogen footprint with speakers from industry, state and federal government, and the University of Delaware. See the current agenda here.
Center for Hydrogen Safety to Host Webinar
The Center for Hydrogen Safety is hosting “Hydrogen on the Move: Lessons Learned for Safer High-Pressure Trailer Design and Operation”on Thursday, October 8, at 12:00 pm.
Compressed hydrogen transport trailers play a critical role in the hydrogen supply chain, helping connect production with fueling stations, industrial users, and other end-use applications. As we recognize Hydrogen Day, this webinar will explore why trailer safety and reliability matter not only during transportation and delivery, but also to the resilience and continuity of the broader hydrogen supply chain.
The session will highlight lessons from operational experience and incidents involving compressed hydrogen trailers, introduce a new initiative focused on advancing trailer best practices, and provide an overview of the Hydrogen Safety Panel’s forthcoming white paper. Attendees will hear key safety lessons, practical considerations, and recommended practices intended to support safer, more reliable compressed hydrogen transport operations as the industry continues to evolve.
