2017 Northeast Fuel Cell Vehicle Tour
Justin Lewis
From June 12 to June 16, FCHEA joined industry representatives and California state officials for a tour of Northeast state capitals and major cities. The tour, organized by the California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), brought together industry representatives and local and state government officials to educate policymakers on FCVs and discuss local policy objectives in helping to promote their introduction to the region.
In a series of meetings in Trenton, New York City, Hartford, Albany, Providence, and Boston, the tour participants met with legislators, environmental and transportation policy officials, and representatives from several governors' offices. The tour also brought along the Toyota Mirai and the Honda Clarity so policymakers could see and experience FCVs first-hand.
June 14: meeting with officials from the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, and Mayor De Blasio's office in New York City.
June 15: Outside the Connecticut State Capitol in Hartford, with the Honda Clarity and Toyota Mirai fuel cell vehicles on display.
June 15: meeting with New York State policymakers in Albany.
June 16: outside the Rhode Island State Capitol in Providence.
FCHEA would like to thank everyone who participated in the tour for their time and dedication.
