The year is already half-way over, and there has been a lot of significant hydrogen and fuel cell activity here in the U.S. and around the world. Since our End of Year 2023 new member update, the Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA) has welcomed 7 members to the association that we are excited to introduce to you below.
New Principal Member

NEI’s members include companies that own or operate nuclear power plants, reactor designers and advanced technology companies, architect and engineering firms, fuel suppliers and service companies, consulting services and manufacturing companies, companies involved in nuclear medicine and nuclear industrial applications, radionuclide and radiopharmaceutical companies, universities and research laboratories, law firms, labor unions, and international electric utilities.
New Supporting Members
Air Company is a CO2 conversion company headquartered in New York City, creating consumer and industrial products from captured CO2. Air Company’s proprietary AIRMADE™ Technology mimics photosynthesis to transform carbon dioxide and hydrogen into sustainable products such as eSAF, e-methanol, and e-ethanol.
The company has commercial partnerships with airlines including JetBlue and Virgin Atlantic, amongst others, and has been awarded multiple government contracts from NASA and the U.S. Department of Defense. The organization has received industry recognition through awards such as Time Best Inventions, Fast Company World Changing Ideas and the XPRIZE for Carbon Removal.

Headquartered in Irvine, California, H2MOF was incorporated in 2021 by Nobel laureate Professor Sir Fraser Stoddart and Professor Omar Yaghi, founder of Reticular Chemistry and awarded the Albert Einstein Award of Science in 2017. Capitalizing on decades of research and scientific advancements in the fields of reticular chemistry (known for Metal Organic Frameworks or ‘MOF’s’) and artificial molecular machinery, H2MOF designs and develops – with atomic precision – durable and efficient solid-state hydrogen storage solutions that operate at low pressure and ambient temperatures, thereby enabling safe and cost-efficient hydrogen storage solutions. Naturally, a solid-state solution that operates at low pressure and ambient temperature reduces not only the energy consumption and the energy penalties/losses often associated with hydrogen storage but also increases the potential risks associated with storing and transporting hydrogen in either compressed form or in liquid cryogenic state.
Joby Aviation was founded in 2009 with the goal of leveraging electric propulsion to extend the benefits of flight to communities around the world while sharply reducing its negative externalities. Joby has completed more than 33,000 miles of all-electric flight with full-scale prototypes of its revolutionary electric air taxi, a quiet aircraft that combines the flexibility of a helicopter with the efficiency of a fixed-wing aircraft.
In 2024, Joby completed a 523-mile flight test of a hydrogen-electric technology demonstrator aircraft, showcasing the potential for emissions-free flight to extend beyond urban air mobility and become part of regional mobility networks.
Koloma is a Denver, Colorado-based geologic hydrogen company that leverages its technology, proprietary data, and human capital advantages to identify and commercialize these resources on a global scale.
Westlake is a global diversified industrial company that manufactures and supplies essential products across the housing and infrastructure, packaging and healthcare, and automotive and consumer goods markets.
The Westlake Performance & Essential Materials business segment includes epoxy, polyethylene, and vinyl chemicals production, which are vital to the manufacturing of polymers used in an extensive range of sectors and applications.
FCHEA works for and with our members on critical advocacy and policy efforts, as well as codes, standards, regulations, and stakeholder outreach and communications to ensure hydrogen and fuel cell technologies are included and supported as the industry continues to expand into new markets and regions.
