United States House of Representatives Introduces Resolution Recognizing National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day!
Connor Dolan
FCHEA is excited to announce that on September 29, the United States House of Representatives recognized October 8, 2020, as National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day with the introduction of House Resolution 1158! This follows the announcement last week that the United States Senate has recognized National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day with the passage of Senate Resolution 720. This is the sixth year in a row that Congress has supported the hydrogen and fuel cell industry.
FCHEA and our members are extremely grateful for the bipartisan leadership of this resolution provided by Representatives Jim Costa (D-16) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA). We also want to thank the other co-sponsors for this resolution, including Representatives Joseph Morelle (D-NY), John Larson (D-CT), Jahana Hayes (D-CT), Mike Levin (D-CA), Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), Peter DeFazio (D-OR), Michael Doyle (D-PA), Tom O’Halleran (D-AZ), Harley Rouda (D-CA), TJ Cox (D-CA), and David McKinley (R-WV).
Details on the House resolution is available at congress.gov here. Details on the Senate resolution are available here.
As a reminder, the date of October 8 (10/08) was chosen in recognition of the atomic weight of hydrogen (1.008). This day provides a platform to raise broader awareness of fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies.
